Reckon this guy would get a tune out of anything - but the Fender's sound sweet ...

Wow...just downloaded and demo'd...That Deluxe, Bassman and Showman are the best sounding computer sims I've ever heard. Equal to my Kemper profiles. I switched over to the Kemper and it was just so much easier to get the tones, though. The AT took a little fiddling and mic changing. Very impressive though.

John thanks ..... you pre-empted me there, I was going to ask how it stood up to the Kemper profiles. Looks like a buy!

I really might not be able to resist this.

I really might not be able to resist this. I can resist. Did the demo and it did sound nothing like in the video. No nice breakup, nothing what we can hear in the demonstration. Switched on my amp and it did sound a lot like in the video.

Huh. Exactly the opposite experience for me. Will try again.... I have the first Fender collection (can't get this new one as don't run 64 bit on my recording rig). Bottom left corner of gui is input control. Crank it, should break up nicely. I got a Tele with SD Alnico Pro 2's, but I can get this first edition breaking up nicely just with a shitty Peavey Raptor.

The only amp sim that gets close for me is the custom ampeg series- & that's for bass....for some reason I can never get amp sims for guitar to sound natural, and it always seems to take a lot of work to get something almost "usable." I'm hearing the same glassy hollowness I typically hear in the video as well.... the only thing that might occasionally work is using them for a lead solo in a pinch. Doesn't hurt that greg slays the guitar though, my 2cents/

Generally with whatever's rotating in an out around here...usually was an ISA one or my interface instrument in's. Wasn't satisfied there except for some DI guitar leads being cranked & fuzzy. Haven't tried 312DI on bass yet but I bet that can be pretty sweet, though I'm not sure I would ever use the extra filter switches on the DI, but hey that's all bass. With that said I am overdue for a pickup upgrade & adding to my guitar stock though...oh the GAS is strong with this one....

My buddy played one - I honestly couldn't stand in front of it when we were gigging, it hurt my ears! Some top end on them.

I asked on the IK forum..no answer... what a surprise...
what input level is this thing expecting to see....
why the f$(F don't they set things to operate at the same goddamn volume... you know.. plug your guitar in and have the presets expect to see -18 -12 whatever dBFs...
cheers

I just can speak for me after two more hours of testing.
I owned a BM and the SR - over the last 2,5 decades.
A Fender Super Reverb does not sound like the simulation. There is no nasty sound on top of the signal, there are no mud bases.
Plug your guitar in any real tube amp and you will have instant sound and fun without wasting hours of getting a simulation to sound right.

I fancy myself pretty familiar with Frnder amps...I thought these were pretty convincing. Really think how you get into the computer is the most important thing.

With all of amplitubes volume controls at the bottom- plus your interface or preamp settings plus dialing in the the amp knob settings- sheesh yeah I'd rather just plug in have a 57 or a decent ribbon in front and bang

Tell me more how the signal needs to be tretead? Is a Hi Z input on a Neve 1073 clone wrong? What's the impedance of that Hi Z input? I noticed a big difference (for the better I think) going to something like a Countryman type 85, which has a 10 Mohm impedance.

I have no idea if its 10 Mohm I have a DI box with 65 kOhm are you sure with the 10 Mohms?
