Probably years late to this party, I'm trying to do something different than metal.. A bit outside of my usual expertise, looking to do a bit o' pop rock with some gritty up front modern sounding guitars. Wasn't getting what I wanted out of the Kemper, so thought I'd try Scuffham out the many recommendations I've seen over the years.. Good ain't it? Yes I missed the memo!.

Apparently, I also missed the memo. What the heck is Scuffham? It's an amp sim essentially, but an extremely good one at that. www.scuffhamamps.com/In a lot of cases it sounds as good or better than my Kemper and it's only $129.00.

Hmmm. I've used it quite a bit, but never been all that impressed with anything other than the fender tweed emulation. I also don't spend a lot of time tweaking knobs.

Is this the one included in the Slate Everything Bundle? I did not like it.
But then, I can't stand any amp sims.

I tried it out and had some weird gain staging issues with some of the models. Not sure what was going on. Good sound, though.

The S-Gear is one of the best in-the-box guitar amp sims around. Very nice break up to the sound (and I usually hate amp sims, Kemper excluded).

I gotta try it again. I fired it up for a few minutes when I had free Everything Bundle, cringed, moved on. Admittedly it was a super quick test and I'm biased because I've never gotten a single tone out of an amp sim I could live with.
I want them to work though. I'll try it again.

Hmmm. I've used it quite a bit, but never been all that impressed with anything other than the fender tweed emulation. I also don't spend a lot of time tweaking knobs. Just yesterday had a scuffham moment for about 30 seconds... and than I switched back to the real amp and work was done in no time.... All those amp simulators don't have balls.... they sound thin and boring....
