So I'm trying to categorize guitar tone by likening them to mics. If the guitar was a mic what mic would it be. Sonically.
Jazz master - 121 Telecaster - 57 Strat -c12
Make a list. SG? 335?

Strat's are kind of twangy, the string length makes them snap a little like a rubber band. I wouldn't call a U67 twangy, so I'd say, Strats are more like a C12 or an SM57.

I prefer to think of them as fruit.
Telecaster - Granny Smiths Apple
Strat - Banana
Les Paul - Melon
Martin Acoustic - Blueberry
.... well it works for me.

I known John, look at me breaking free of the "norm" of comparing guitars to mics, and using fruit instead. I suppose you'll also think it strange I compare mics to vegetables. U47 - Marrow U67 - Spring Onion SM57 - Fennel C12 - Cucumber I just see recording as a kind of culinary experience. We're all different in our approaches

So a mix is like preparing a delicious dish that reveals its flavors to the ears over time. Bring on the spice and the sauce! 😀

Considering how hot my Retro STA Level get's and how creamy it sounds I like to compare it to "toasting marshmallows"

Ah so the Ibanez Iceman is a durian. Kind of strangely uncomfortable and looks dangerous and interesting but in the end not really all that great.

That's how I feel about both versions of the Destroyer, bolt on and neck through. Kind of like yesterday's mashed potatoes left in the fridge overnight, without any butter or gravy.
