Attachment DeletedWell, I’m driving down the road and happen to be driving by a GC. Yes, a GC. You heard right, a GC!!! I had a few extra minutes today and I haven’t really browsed In a while. Going through those doors was my first mistake. Seeing a sweet looking tele hanging on the wall was my second mistake. Plugging it in and playing it into a Fender Custom 65 was my third mistake...after a few choice custom curse words...I couldn’t help it...ugh! It was a tele dream and put me in a state of not caring if the world ended right there after just jamming on it for 5 minutes!!! Just heavenly tone! The setup was perfect, and it’s a looker! I haven’t revisited Fender since the early Eric Johnson signature Strat I got years ago. This tele is the newer elite model? I don’t really know what they have now...All I know is when I picked it up and played it, you just know. Hard to believe you can still find one off the shelf like that! Just really excited about my find! It was used and I got a really nice deal on it! Another great thing, so I had to do the devious deed of spending money on yet another guitar! Ugh!!!! My plan was to find a cheaper tele and turn it into a Frankentele...now my other tele will be on the bench! Just wanted to share my little story today. Now I will stay home and never go to GC again! I wish I had taken a better pic, you can’t even see the wood grain or the silver sparkles in the paint.

Looks good! Black with white binding - getting into Pete Townshend's old Schecter Saturn territory, albeit sans pick guard. Congratulations and enjoy!

I was at an event a few years ago where Fender had setup a bunch of guitars in a restaurant. The Elites were all great players, better then the custom shops for my taste, at least.

I agree, the custom shops I’ve played aren’t really that much different. Just slight tonal differences like in all guitars. But this new line of elites does it for me! I might go check out a Strat next in this series. This actually opened up a new can of worms for me. Now I need a new amp and a couple new pedals! Lol
