I hear you can get the same effect by whispering marinair over your solder.

I'm interested in a set if there are still some available. *thumbs up*

I'm interested in a set if there are still some available. *thumbs up* Judging by the folks who've responded, I think first 5 are spoken for, but if there's more interest I'll build another 4 or 5 in a few weeks. I just can't lay out close to 2K$ for parts in one go so I'll have to break this up into two batches.

So a serious question.. Which dial markings do you prefer?

So a serious question.. Which dial markings do you prefer? Bottom row, far right. Star in circle. Chicken head knobs. Or, dots with the biggest bakelite knobs you can find, in a flat black, 5U case.

LOL, srsly? That'd be like 99% air in that case.. They're going in 1U x 8" chassis.. Even then I could have probably fit 8 channels if I had laid these out a little more narrow. I have some grey with blue insert knobs that give a little of the grey/blue SSL look..

I'm kinda partial to the second from the right on the star row.

The one on the far right of my test panel pic? I've got a vote for the dots, and I like the little bars. Not sure about the numbers though..

The one on the far right of my test panel pic? Yes. Speaking of empty cases...seen the SHMC?

I like the dots or the one on the right in your mock up.

The one on the far right of my test panel pic? Yes. Speaking of empty cases...seen the SHMC? They have to have a huge faceplate for all those knobs

Ok, PCBs ordered. I'm trying out a new PCB house which is supposed to be faster and cheaper than who I've been using and gets decent reviews, so we'll see..
Hopefully I won't get shit boards.
Got the first batches of parts in yesterday. One place sent me substituted transformers, which of course are physically bigger and now too big for the chassis, so I need to return them and see if they have anything that will fit..

Looks like the boards are in production. Should maybe be the end of the week when they arrive, or early next week at the latest.
Looks like I also got most of the parts and I started on the chassis cutting the hole for the power inlet.
I need to finish the overlay for the front and back and send those off to be printed soon.
