Picked one up and I think its a keeper. I have no idea if it pulls off what it claims to, but I do know I like the tones Im getting with it recording direct. Anybody tried one?

Yes, I have owned one for a few years.
It's one of the better preamp/DI bass things I have used, probably the best.
It sounds more "amp like" than the SansAmp stuff, more realistic.

I use one of the 1x4 radial splitters and run this, a Sansamp VT bass set to flip top but pushed into overdrive and a little boosted top, and a direct DI. Having the 3 to blend is nice. The VT compliments well as a OD, on its own its kinda meh.

I use one live when I'm playing bass , and find it sounds pretty good. I also play an SVT classic quite often, and the pedal definitely gives that vibe, helps cut through a busy rock mix. I do find the sound a bit plasticky sounding in the high end compared to the real amp but for live use it's just fine. My only complaint is the level drop when engaging the scrambler overdrive, which is super noticeable, so I usually just leave it on all the time to add a little grit and use a Malekko Bassmaster for my od/fuzz tone.
