Nothing has delighted me more this past week to learn that not one but two classic American Amp manufacturers are back in a big way and THEY GOT IT RIGHT!! That's a rare statement to make... so let's let the amps speak for themselves, shall we?
Magnatone
Supro!

I'd be all over these amps, if I didn't already own 4 x 50's/60's era Gretsch amps, that were made by Supro way back then. Love that sound.
By the way, Matt Smith (in the video) is one of my best buddies, I co produced and engineered 5 albums alongside him... Amazing guy, and he can play just about anything with strings on it!

I played the Magnatone amps just as 2014 NAMM was closing on Sunday afternoon, using the Flying V seen in the video. I played the Stereo Twilighter, and was mightily impressed. The clean tones might be the sweetest I've ever heard, clean yes, but 'finished' sounding with lots of character and the stereo pitch tremolo was gorgeous.
Didn't get to hear the Supro's but the video was impressive. JHS pedals makes a Supro pedal, the SuperBolt, that I use in my stage rig since last year. It's got the vibe, and I use it about 40% of the show. Just doesn't sound like anything else, and it's making my live sound unique, because you just don't hear that coming out of a 4X12.

Rainbow Guitars in Tucson has a Twilighter in stock. It's an easy day-trip for me to go see it. And I do not have an amp with this kind of character in my collection. I am trying to resist, but it is difficult.

At these prices the new Supro amps can't be real re-issues. Mine don't have PC boards in them.
Even though they sound good how long will they last?
At this price......i'd buy used if i needed more.

Gonna try out the whole Supro line at the factory in a couple of weeks - can't freakin wait. Practising my Page licks in preparation, they better have a LP there to play into it, ha!

Tube sockets on the PCB.
Buy used.......original "real" Supros will last longer.

Hey guys, sorry, just got in from traveling. Yep checked them out on Sunday, absolutely phenomenal amps. Played the Coronado and the Thunderbolt Plus, both of which are killer. These things are amazingly touch sensitive - you have an incredible amount of control over the amount of grit and breakup you get just with your fingers. Thought I'd vastly prefer the thunderbolt because I love 15 inch speakers, but the Coronado has such a great dynamic range and sounds fantastic when driven. So many tone options by changing the gain staging between the amp channels and volume on the guitar. And the trem... sweet lord. The three wattage options on the Tbolt+ make it really versatile and all have distinct sounds. From what I saw, get in soon, demand is nuts. I don't think Dave would mind me posting one pic... Almost worth the ridiculous extra baggage charge to bring one back to NZ! The variety of tones you can get out of them is nuts.

This really tells the story - no pedals needed. Want a completely different tone? Just change the gain staging. Also - damn Matt Smith is such a great player.

Awesome. He still gets amazing volume - in his hair. The bit around 2:15 is great though - shows the variety of tones you get just with the volume knob on the guitar.

Nice to see they're finally released! (on the right side here) Tried em back in September, they play fantastically. I'm assuming that's what the "special announcement" is on Friday.
