I know these are cheap somewhat "entry level" guitars, although when I tried one I really liked it. Whilst I ended up walking away with a guitar that cost a fair bit more (upper end parallaxe) I'm looking for something a little more rock orientated and this came near the top for me.
Any other suggestions to try out? I can go a fair bit higher budget wise.

Yamaha and Ibanez kinda occupy similar space in my mind when thinking about that type of guitar.

Pacificas rule. They're better Strats (well better than most of what Fender is making now, which is still quite okay) with a wider neck. Anyone try the 600 dollar ones? The 90s made in the USA ones are awesome.

I think a good guitar will always cost good money.

I think a good guitar will always cost good money. We think alike. Value and price may not go hand in hand, but they sure hang out together an awful lot.
