Macallan 18 here. But it's funny, I'm living the subject line- I've gotten off the Mac/Stella train and hopped on The Wagon for a while. I realized I was just mildly sedating myself every night and not getting anything done. So now I'm sober and still not getting anything done. But the idea of drinking suddenly feels wrong. I'm sure the feeling will pass, thankfully.

Well, The Rona has definitely made me drink more.

Maybe I should re-name this the Bourbon/Mental Health Subforum.

At my place, standard Evan Williams is a staple. I buy it by the handle for low bucks and it's fine for the price. Don't mind passing that around to everyone coming through that's in the mood for a shot.
I've been enjoying the High West American Prairie blend lately. Decent taste and price. Always like Buffalo Trace as another standard.
Weekly, I have an Irish band on the studio and we end up drinking all sorts of Jameson. Standard, black, stout blend, ipa blend, 21 year, all sorts of stuff. They can't get enough and I don't complain. 😁😁

I'm sipping a few fingers worth of Pecan Rye from Standard Proof Whiskey Company, based here in Nashville. I've currently been alternating with some Basil Hayden's bourbon. Good stuff!

I have an almost empty liter of Bulliet.. Last night, client drummer and I polished off a 26er of Buffalo Trace and 1/2 bottle of sherry in the afore-mentioned mix. (mostly after tracking, of course) Discovered after a few that about a 1/2 shot of sherry with 2 shots of bourbon was perfect. Pony and Jigger, if you know the lingo. Bulleit and sherry next time!

Sorry, cowboycoalminer . I started to try and just move the bourbon posts and it would have just made the whole thing confusing. Repost that question on the main board if you want. Naw it's fine. Bourbon and audio gear go hand in hand.

My manager said I need to quit drinking scotch. She was right. So now I drink Irish single malt. 15 Redbreast is my fav so far. And Connemara for peat

If you’re looking for a bourbon-ish scotch look to speyside and things aged in sherry barrels. They’ll be less smoky and tend towards sweeter.

Never had Pappy...I’ve heard some say it’s fantastic and some say it’s overrated. Been drinking a bottle of Woodford Double Oaked that’s really good. Love Angels Envy, Jefferson and Weller of course, but there’s nothing wrong with a $25 bottle of Bulliet or Rittenhouse. Bulleit Rye is my staple. Oaky, cheap, good. I have had some bottles twice/thrice as much, and they tell me it's amazing, and I taste it, and it tastes like Bulleit Rye. It's my staple too.
