Bought a bottle of Larceny last night. Need to imbibe more before I render a decision . . . it's still distilling. Well the verdict is in... and OH MY GOD WHAT A WHISKEY!!! An amazing finish... smooth beyond belief!

Mostly wine today... Later "fortified" with a bit of vodka. Been avoiding whiskey to save money. Been avoiding Women to save money. (Famous Last Words) Chris Exsept the ones willing to pay for ME!!! Just kidding.

The problem I have with Bourbon is that the sweetness is an automatic prescription for a royal hangover.

Is there a "bourbon board"?
I wouldn't know - I look at threads in the main menu.
When I drink whiskey, I'm a single malt Scotch guy. Occasionally Irish. Maybe rye - which is NOT bourbon. Thank you very much.

This is all in the Bourbon sub-forum. The only ryes we hear mentioned here are those from bourbon makers who have some bourbon in them. It even says so on the labels.
Yeah, the Larceny... I can feel it this morning!

That's odd - I thought I was posting in the "What Are You Drinking Today?" thread.

I can feel it this morning! I like to alternate 2 oz of bourbon with at least 6 oz of water... Most people don't drink enough water to begin with. Dehydration while drinking is often the culprit for hangovers. Or drinks with higher sugar content (cocktails, wines). P.S. - I know we are adults, and aware of these things- just some personal observation and sometimes a simple reminder of things we know can be helpful. Never hurts to have a reminder to 'check the phase' so to speak Ward

I’ve really been enjoying Blantons with Buffalo Trace as my backup. Just a minute or two to let the ice melt a bit... so nice. Perhaps a little OT, but Brockmans Gin w/Tonic might be my favorite drink ever! (until the cold weather hits.) It’s really on a different level. Cheers!
PS: Look forward to trying some of the suggestions on here. Thanks!

Tried roasting a French Roast batch this week. Was not as good as I thought it was going to be.
So I went back to my usual medium roast winner - Southern Colombian Volcan. Thats a nice smooth coffee.

Ooh cool! This thread is technically for alcoholic themed beverages, but I suppose coffee does alter your brain chemistry on some level Medium roasts are usually my favorite as well

Guess i should have put 2 and 2 together to realise it was about alcohol. I dont actually drink that stuff as i am addicted already to coffee. Cheers

Last night ... whoa boy . . . did I ever overdo it. We were tracking vocals for a folk compilation record, and there were a couple of friends over adding voices, gratis, so we started pouring. Holy smokes.
Buffalo Trace, Larceny, Bulleit, Beam, Hayden, Elijah Craig, Dickles, a few others. Anyhow, I'm a lightweight, and 6 generous shots was just about 5 too many. And I'm paying for it today, but man, was it ever delicious.

Been awhile since I had a Malbec. This one was solid, nice sipper from Argentina while I watched my favorite soccer team play (featuring a freshly signed Argentinean). Attachment Deleted
