Woodford Rye tonight. I’ve been completely ruined by that OH 1910. This taste like spicy water now. Yeah, I'd probably delegate the Woodford Rye to Manhattans or Old Fashioneds... Or like the first drink before you move on to something nicer. Yeah the differences are really evident now that I just drink neat.

Picked up a bottle of Redemption Rye yesterday and I liked it. 92 proof, 95% rye and 5% barley. Spicy and smooth and only $27.

I've got to stop checking this thread. I'm usually in the middle of homework, and not the kind you can drink during, and it just makes me too damn thirsty.
I enjoyed a bottle of Henry McKenna 10 Single Barrel over the last few weeks. Quite good.

’I enjoyed a bottle of Henry McKenna 10 Single Barrel over the last few weeks. Quite good.’
Such a good one. Hard to find these days it seems. I miss when it was 25 bucks like 3 years ago and sat on the shelf

A single shot of Knob Creek at the end of 16 hours (mostly tracking drums), poured over ice made out of rainwater. Then a shot of Larceny when I got home.

Last night was Little Book Chapter 3. One of the best bourbons Ive had in a long time.

In order to make drum edits less painful last night, my client (artist) and I meandering through the 4 best takes of drums on a particular song and picking out the best bits, assembling them and fixing all off time bits manually and cross-fading and all other forms of trickery . . .
Started with a healthy glass of Jamieson's on the rocks, and then polished off a 5th of Beam Black over ice as well. (all ice cubes made from rainwater, as that's all your whiskey should ever be poured over)
Anyhow, shortly, I will be reviewing all our Jack Douglas/Steven Tyler/Joe Perry style editing and see what we actually did.
When I got home, my partner had a lovely tall glass of Larceny poured up over rainwater ice also.
Wow, I'm paying for all that now.

Just yesterday I tapped a St. Bernardus Christmas Ale in my studio's pub. Man this is great stuff! That will make 4 x of my holiday fav's to enjoy thru the Holidays. I gotta tell ya, Since I really hate the cold, this is the only way to get thru this time of year for me. Attachments:

Dude! Just got a Goose Island beer aged in Larceny barrels for 5 years with apples, spices, and natural caramel. 14.5%. Saving it for Christmas.

I’m knee deep in a bottle of Rieger Vodka and Rose’s lime juice. The restaurant may be closing but the distillery lives! Drink local my friends!

You know what goes well with a nice glass of whiskey neat? A Lime and Lager. Start with a good slow brew lager and add 1.5oz of Rose's Lime Cordial. Beautiful stuff to chase your whiskey and cleanse your palate.

I like the Bulleit Rye a lot. I haven't tried their Bourbon, but I bet it's great.
Maker's Mark is smooth, and my favorite bourbon...I haven't tried anything too esoteric. Anyone tried Pappy Van Winkle yet?

I’ve had the 20 year Pappy before and it’s great. I have a bottle and a half of the 12 year lot b winkle that only gets broken out on special occasions, and I only really drink it if I have some friends over to share with.
That single barrel Old Forrester is great, as is the Weller 107.
Folks here have nice tastes!

Anyone tried Pappy Van Winkle yet? I think Ive had every Pappy Van Winkle except the rye. The 15 and 12 might be my favorite. 20 is pretty good, but definitely gets oakier/drier as it gets older. If you like Maker's Mark, try Larceny. A little cheaper, probably a bit older in age and still around $20. A little more complex than Makers, perhaps in exchange for 'smoothness' depending on your palate. There are probably 25 bourbons and ryes I'd suggest over Bulleit. Not that its bad. Just better options.

Elijah Craig tonight. Neat. Beautiful elixir! Enjoying a very small glass of that as I type...it's my new favorite. A couple nights ago it was Woodford Reserve....I had (perhaps?) one too many and decided to cut my own hair. Luckily it turned out great:)
