HA!...Never liked it enough to learn how to spell it. This explains why you don't have the rasp in your voice that us bourbon drinkers seem to suffer from. (and no, i don't smoke) In all honesty, I sounds soooo much better after a night getting hammered

I’ve got to try something different. I’m stuck on 1910 and BHDR for the last several bottles. I’ve never had McKenna. Gonna get it when I find it. I’m really after Blanton’s right now but it’s impossible to find.

Thinking about picking up Blantham's (spelling?) for tonight . . . any thoughts? Well, theres Blanton's and Bernheim. Both are good, Bernheim is a wheat whiskey, not really a bourbon. Ive had it a couple times and really enjoyed it- Also a Heaven Hill product like Larceny so maybe you'd dig it. Blanton's is super hyped, but very hit or miss flavorwise, especially the standard fare. Many other bottles I'd choose first, just because its so unpredictable. Sometimes its suprisingly harsh.

I’m really after Blanton’s right now but it’s impossible to find. Henry McKenna 10 year is pretty consistently good these days. You ever tried Russell's Reserve 10 year? Pretty solid bourbon for around 27-30 bucks.

Drinking Gimlets tonight. 2 oz. Hendricks Gin, 1 oz. rich Simple syrup, 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice. Really fantastic.

Today we're drinking Redemption Rye, cheers to John K for letting me "have a go" at that interesting vocal track. On the nose it's dried citrus and marshmallow. In the pallette there's a bright top note of funky stone fruit, some smoke, a little ethanol sting, not too heavy, quite sweet. Finish is surprisingly bitter with a lingering rootbeer taste and something like elderberry. I think I like it, never had this one before. There was a really cute working dog at the ABC store too, that I'll be happy to see again next time I go to try something new.

don't why I do it to myself... hungover all morning. Straight bourbon, or mixed with rainwater or on the rocks? No hangover. But with anything carbonated? Head ache and even some body aches, every time. Ive read that hangovers are often more a result of sugar content in drinks/mixers more than carbonation. That said regular old Makers Mark does seem to give me a head ache as well! A lot of it has to do with chemicals called "cogeners," byproducts from fermentation, including things like acetone in very small amounts. Oak and smoke can have some unsettling effects too, in my experience, the tannins and the free radicals. Wine is some of the most notorious. This is why I usually stick to plain vodka and lager or pilsner style beers, they're so simple and heavily distilled. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, having a strong whiskey day for something different.

Old Forester Blanton’s and 1910 again...still have some of the cheap Weller and Russell’s 10 year, but neither are my favs.

Bulleit later on today. Clients over for a photoshoot... so that's as generous as I'm getting, although I also have a bottle of dry sherry and some bitters out, so I can make some 'Velvet Old Fashioneds'. A curious cocktail.

I’d rank them (for me) 1. 1910 2. 1897 3. 1920 4. 1870 Right now, I’m drinking Blantons (if I could, that’s really all I’d drink), 1910 and Knob Creek 10 year.

Well, it's still February, so what I've been drinking is still nonalcoholic.
Specifically, Don Primo Cannabis Tincture Lemonade.
Not bad. Still looking forward to midnight on Sunday though.
