Never had a White Russian until tonight.
Wow that’s pretty good!
I Stumbled upon 4 bottles of Blantons the other day at $48 a bottle. Grabbed two of them. Man that’s good stuff! I’ve not had it in quite a while.

I’ve heard tales of people wondering into a liquor store in like NJ or London or whatever and there sits Blantons, Weller, etc at off the shelf prices.

I haven’t seen Blantons in a few years so I was shocked it was on the shelf and at a regular price. Back about 6 years ago or so Elmer T Lee was on the shelf here all the time for like $28. I’ve got one bottle left from back then that I’m afraid to drink. It’s like $300 a bottle now. It’s just crazy.

Thank God Almighty winter is almost over. Back to whiskey after tonight's session.

Weller is pretty easy to find at cost. Same with Buffalo Trace.

Ok. Maybe double is pushing it.

Ok. Maybe double is pushing it. 107 goes for about double secondary, and Single Barrels are anywhere from $125 to $250. When the pandemic ends, we really should do a whiskey meetup with RGO people. I have a TON of goodies thanks to living in KY and being 3 minutes from a few of the best liquor stores in the country. Love to share em with folks who appreciate unique stuff.

Landed two bottles of Col. EH Taylor today. Got one for retail from my favorite new store and went down the street and got another one at $20 over retail. Also grabbed a Blade & Bow. So I am tapped out for a while.

A proper old fashion cocktail with an ounce of Heaven Hill 6 year and an ounce of Early Times Bottled in Bond for a little extra proof and corn sweetness. Glad to know there are other whiskey lovers in the group. Cheers to internet friends! View AttachmentI can’t find that Heaven Hill in Nashville. Good stuff.

WAAAYYYYY too much to drink the past 2 days, as I had gigs and had some bad jitters.
I'm more of a fan of the 1792 small batch than the Blanton's these days. But I also put away a pocket flask of Beam before both gigs. And a couple IPAs.

It's afternoon. I'm back from the Doctor. My Blood pressure is down from 214/114 to 120/80.
I'm having a Black Rose (New Englanders will get that) sized shot of 1792.

So I’ve opened another bottle of Blantons and I’m really amazed at how much better this bottle is compared to the last several I’ve had. THIS is why I freaked out over Blantons. Not sure I’ve given that enough credence before now...but it makes sense. Some barrels are just going to taste better than others. That’s the reason people do barrel/store picks. Reminds me of eating fruit in the summer. You get some peaches. They’re always good - always taste like peaches - but sometimes you get a basket that are just unbelievably good.

Later I loosen up a bit.
