Actually, it may be pushing closer to a modern take on fascism..... Merriam Websters : fas·cism | \ ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi- \ Definition of fascism 1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
[edit] : with a sprinkling or dollop of stake holder capitalism (controlled and directed by the government) thrown in for good measure. I mean....what's not to like about that? They're the government, and they are here to help us!!! 🤣better hold a bit tighter to those pearls, my friend! A couple seem to have escaped your clutches!😋 After a recent serious bout with Delta, and subsequent personal effort to get treated with monoclonal antibodies (Regeneron), my personal perspective on the subtlties of the situation fall closer to fascism than it does capitalism or socialism. Government purchased, government controlled capitalism in this specific instance. Making treatment not so easy as calling up the doc and getting treated. Essentially government power plays that ended up controlling my personal medical treatment. (My personal issues were unbeknownst to them of course, but still, they had a part in the whole drama) Read above definition. A modern day take on an age old play.... Deny it at your own risk.

😂Aha! Of course! The stuff of right-minded conspiracy theorists' fever dreams (or nightmares...?)! It was a joke, you'll have to bear with me here my little smiley emoji guys on my macbook pro aren't working at the moment so just assume they are there. Oh man, I knew it was a joke, and I thought it a rather funny one at that! No smiley emoji necessary!

So someone asked the truckers how long they intend to stay in Ottawa. They said "two weeks, just to flatten the curve".

(or "communism" or "socialism") It wasn't only something I disagreed with. It actually happened. It was a personal health care issue/crisis accentuated by arm wrestling politicians in power (Admin.) vs. politicians who were in opposition to them (FL). To me clearly a case of "severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition". I don't know how it gets any clearer than that - I didn't define it - Websters did. Call it what you want, I know we are all joking (kinda) but humor is often there to point out the obvious mis steps we or society or government makes.... There are many other examples if you look about these days.

For those of you who want a true free market, libertarian, government hands-off approach to the COVID situation, be careful what you wish for. A true free market would likely result in hospitals and insurance companies refusing treatment and coverage for the unvaccinated. A position I would wholeheartedly endorse. The most recent numbers I've seen showed that somewhere between 80 and 90% of the hospitalized COVID patients in the US are unvaccinated. Health care workers are tired of treating self-inflicted wounds and we're all having to deal with restrictions on our freedoms due to the unvaccinated. I'm tired of it, and all of the arm-chair wanna be experts aren't helping the situation.

2k dead from Covid per day. That's....kinda severe. From or with? Factually that is. I'm not sure. All I hear is "from". Then later "with". Seems that that should get straightened out, no? Even CNN is now saying "with" is not the same as "from". Because there is no money, space or plan for testing never was one and nobody said “umm you do realize if we don’t test and do a postmortem on everybody we don’t know who had it, and what actually killed them. “ I was told it was in the NSC’s plan for a pandemic but nobody seams to have cared from either party. To cover their asses because nobody knows who COVID directly or inderectly was killed, they died “ with COVID” because they had a positive test and died. Really simple. Also take a case like mine it wasn’t the COVID that did me in it was a reaction to the anti viral drugs. Even as far as if I had called an ambulance I would have been admitted with COVID not because of it. Also factor in that the main issues with this virus are respiratory, that means those with respiratory and cardiac issues are going to have problems sooooo, if I have a damaged heart and COVID, my heart gives out l, what killed me? It’s like the chicken or the egg even with a post.

The science says that your antibodies are long gone. ****I was incorrect about this. The latest data indicates that antibodies from infection last between 3 months and up to 5 year.

I was just going to amend my prior post. Apparently, the data is now showing immunity from infection can last anywhere from 3 months to 5 years (not sure how they can determine the longer timeframe). Obviously, if your blood work says you have antibodies, you have antibodies. Every expert I've seen discuss this, however, suggests that people in your situation get the vaccine. The combination of the vaccine and prior infection creates a very strong immunity.

Take 30 seconds google the man, realize what his day job is and who he talks to everyday. While I don’t converse with the exact same people I do talk to people in equivalent positions, he is not talking crazy. There are 2 reasons why insurance companies and hospitals haven’t taken this route. 1 an insurance policy is a contract can’t change the rules when you want to. 2. Nobody in health care can survive without the government, they do pay for 60-70 percent of healthcare in the US, at the beginning everybody was told “ treat them as best you can we will. Take care of you.” Well they kind of have and haven’t, the Government has done nothing to help the workers ( think for a second they sent National Gard troops not real army or navy! Now a real military doc, tech, or Nurse is stationed in most cases at a military hospital that sees little to no civilian patients but these skilled positions in the guard probably have a day job using these same skills at a hospital or clinic somewhere. So if I call up these people I’m taking them away from somewhere else! Yeah simple logic! Now the insurance and medical community have seen all kinds of programs to keep the cash flowing. Also no free speech argument here Spotify is a private platform, they can make their own rules, they employ Rogen. Their decision was simple: Neil Young, eh your old we have minimal investment in you and you not that hot right now, Joe Rogen is our boy and generates traffic and he is all ours.

If I thought I was endangering a single person I’d get 10 shots. If I have the slightest tickle in my throat or sniffle, I’m staying home. I would never want anyone to be denied medical treatment for any reason, let’s not let this stuff take us there 👊🏼

Gotcha. I don’t go looking for info on forum members outside of what they offer up here, we might start doxing each other 🤣. Regardless, I don’t agree with supporting denying healthcare to someone who’s unvaccinated. We don’t do that to smokers or overweight people. Hell, even a murderer gets help in the e.r. If they need it before they are hauled off the jail. I know we’re all on edge but we’ve got to keep some level of decency here.

Yes, I’m certainly not implying that anything I do in my day job has led me to believe that any of my thoughts on this as expressed above are those of clients or are in any way eminent. My point was that under a true free market system, which does not exist, market forces would attempt to correct the behavior of the unvaccinated. I think there is zero chance hospitals will or could deny coverage to the unvaccinated. However, I think down the road we could see health insurance companies attempt to exclude coverage for the unvaccinated. Hopefully, folks will get the vaccine and it won’t come to that.

Come on dude…out of all the crazy shit that’s been said here this takes the cake! Nope. That would be the post where you said you are unvaccinated. We really should get back to audio stuff. Between this thread and the COVID vaccine thread, this place is becoming a shit show. I think with the odd couple of thousand music topics being discussed on this forum and this particular thread is in the “off topic” forum, the 2 x threads you mentioned certainly are no problem for me to happily discuss. Less then 1% of the threads are this style. Should we shut down this discussion? Should we take it to another “Totally Off the grid topic” thread? I would think if it is so much of a “poo fest” why are you still here wading through it? Doesn’t it show that you too want to discuss this as well?
