WAAAYYYYY too much to drink the past 2 days, as I had gigs and had some bad jitters. I'm more of a fan of the 1792 small batch than the Blanton's these days. But I also put away a pocket flask of Beam before both gigs. And a couple IPAs. Odd... I usually drink little or nothing before a gig. Afraid it'll mess up my voice more than normal. Later I loosen up a bit.
I hear you. Normally, I don't ever drink before a gig and never on the job. But it has been a while and anxiety's a bitch.

Johnny Walker Red, sharing it around, I like it. Mixing it with water, mostly.

Just picked up a 'fresh' bottle of Larceny. Planned on the Basil Hayden bourbon but they were all out .

Got a couple today...Blantons, 1792, Woodford Double Oaked...
Can't remember if I mentioned I had another bottle of Angel's Envy the other night (gee, I wonder why I can't remember) - I like it - hadn't had it in a while...but I don't think it stands up to some of my favorites.

Super classy today, got a couple cans of Hurricane Malt Liquor, "Be Bold, Be Smooth, Be Powerful." I have a soft spot for the occasional malt liquor, this one has a good flavor, almost a cherry note in there.

Ive been enjoying a Chapter 7 single malt scotch while watching Ozark. Needed something dark, intense, and complex to match the show : )

I think it's going to be a Macallan 12 year double cask today.

Makers Mark is going on the 'not' list for me now.
The past few times I've had it, I'v gotten terrible heartburn from it.
Back to Larceny and 1792.

Day-drinking some Beam and Zevia to calm the nerves in between doing some guitar tracks for an off-broadway musical written by some folks from home.
I gotta clam down, or I'll overplay (as usual) or play too fast (as usual)

Had some I.W. Harper from 1968 this weekend. Also some Blantons Straight from the Barrel. Did a barrel pick of Yellowstone- that stuff is really good at barrel proof!

Heads up for any rye and MGP fans (Distillery of lots of 'hard to get' and expensive ryes and bourbons)... Dickel rye is actually from MGP! So you can get a decent whiskey with a little age on it for around $20-25. Not bad on its own, great for Manhattans, Old Fashioneds etc. Link to a review: www.breakingbourbon.com/review/george-dickel-rye-whiskey

I do have a few Dickel sourced single barrels branded as other things though (Smooth Ambler, Barrel etc)

Lately, I've been limiting the bourbon and have turned to amber rum as the wifey doesn't enjoy the wreak of bourbon off me in the evenings.

Finally found a McKenna 10. It’s decent. Not completely sure I’d buy it again, but it’s probably a good one for the price (around $45). I’ve really gotten to the point that I just want the good stuff and it’s worth paying for. Everything else is just an approximation. A metaphor for pro audio gear.
