Thank god.lol.. 3 more built and doing what they do best. Now to build some absorbers with Corning 703, by the way. Corning is expensive. Recording 2 inches @ a Time(plus PT) Switch to rockwool/mineral wool. It's a lot cheaper and easier on the lungs than compressed fiberglass. Where are you located? If you are in the 'states, then some Lowe's stores are starting to carry rockwool batts as an alternative to fiberglass or paper. You can also order it from ATS acoustics as well. It's not cheap to ship, but you can also buy leftover "cuttings" from them for fairly cheap and build bass absorbers from them.

Hey Tony, can u explain what u mean about more than 6 periods. I hope I haven't screwed up.lol

Hey Tony, can u explain what u mean about more than 6 periods. I hope I haven't screwed up.lol Recording 2 inches @ a Time(plus PT) No problem, each one of those diffusor units(of the same layout/design) u've built represent one period. If you build up to six of them, you're good to go(bbc style), if you build a 7th, you really need to build an inverse of the ones you've already built, otherwise the diffusion pattern will cause a build up at certain frequencies causing a peak(lobe) in your room. Thats bad because your building them to smooth and flatten the frequency response of your room in the first place lol hope that helps mang. edit; if you bother to build 7, and you plan on building more for some reason, build u to the next 5 inverse also, after 10, you could go either way. God only knows why you would build more than 10 of those PITA's 8)

OK...Looking at how cool Sub's turned out...I might give this another shot. That's a great idea building that size... tonycamphd can you lean them against a wall with the same result? I must redeem my honor.

I must redeem my honor. @johnkenn you can put them anywhere you want, they definitely work best without obstruction between a source and diffusor though. i think i put a little guide helper in the beginning of the thread? I hope it works out this time, my stomach was sore from laughing for days after last time...no shit 8)

Thanks for the compliment my friend. I was screwing around last night with my acoustic GTR. I put a 451 around 12th fret aimed slightly towards sound hole. I then put a 414 facing the Diffusor about 2ft or so. back, Dude, me just screwing around, I added the 414 in the mix just under a few dB from the 451. Friggin' unbelievable. And this was just in my living room. These would be killer to have around a drum kit if the room is smaller than normal.

Yes they do. I can't wait to get my studio finished and put these in. I think I'll make some mobile ones to have around. Super easy to build and it doesn't take that long. Sometimes my ADHD kicks in and I can't get nothing done. I'm finishing the 2nd one up before I go to sleep..

So what is the easiest? Mitre or table saw? for best results, both sadly, the 2x2 stock is actually 1.5"x 1.68", which isn't exactly good for squaring your design... So you need to rip them long ways on a table saw to make them square first if you want a neat end product. the chop saw is for lengths, i built 6 periods, i think i added up 4,850 total physical moves to get them done, and that did not include mounting lol

The pic is 2ft x 4ft, it weighs a ton dude. I used a miter saw and made a jig for each size, cut all the same time.

OMG, lol, are you moses now because of people joining the flock? The link you put on would make the cost of a single diffusor approximately $onemiiiiiiiiiiillion dollars. need 8' long doug fir if we wanna keep it within reason.
