It's more than likely going to be a black hole on a lot of peoples wallets...

Looks cool. So do the new Apogee Symphony Studios I just wish it was a fully fledged audio interface, not a ATMOS centered interface. A 1u 8 in/out has been missing in their line up since the ensemble.

Is this a joke? There's no digital IO on the Apogee Symphony Studio line??? Looks like more of a Atmos mixing interface with 8 in, than an ensemble replacement. Very cool for some studios i guess.

I gotta say - I really dislike this marketing strategy. It’s like they are trying to build excitement but it does the opposite for me. Just drop the product you’ll get more interest that way.
IMO

Spoke to someone about this yesterday and learned a few things. It's an updated Mothership that has improved delay compensation, allows you to put the cards in any order you want, gets rid of the need for jumper settings on the cards and other improvements. He didn't know if the PSU has had any improvements (if needed).
Current cards will be compatible but there are new ones coming out with greater I/O, etc. I'll definitely be picking this up. He had no info on pricing yet.

Agree 100%. Just release it when it's ready. Not everything needs a bunch of online speculation.

It's better than the release strategy of that one bizarre plug-in over on the purple site, that I'm too lazy to go look the name up of, which was only sold for the period *before* it was announced what it even did in terms of functionality. People were asked to purchase it without even knowing whether it was a compressor or a reverb lol. And, people did.
