I feel like this has been asked before, but does Stereo Tool ever go on sale?

Looking to buy an EQ from Sonnox. I see they have 3 options. Oxford EQ, Oxford Dynamic EQ and Claro. Anyone knows if they sound the same and only differs in features? Oxford EQ is the one you want. Claro is a believe one of the four types of EQs in Oxford but with a different graphical interface. It’s a bit sluggish, as least on my basic MacBook M1, but maybe whenever my new Mac Mini shows up it’ll be more responsive. Dynamic EQ is good but not better than TDR Nova. I think Oxford EQ and Dynamics are the two “stand outs”. The rest are good but a bit more specialized/limited use. I use Oxford EQ and Dynamics on pretty much every mix. nice, that's the one I'm looking indeed. i'm going to get it. used for the first time this year the Oxford Dynamics, and it's freaking good. and I like the ergonomics of the EQ. easy to use, but not that easy like ProQ.

All the Black Rooster stuff is $10. I was eyeing their La3a a few months back but ended up getting something else. Cheers, Geoff Bought five of their Plugs. * Got 2 free ones of theirs too. (Along with free 72 Pre from Fuse) Chris * Some of the lower CPU intensive ones.

They're all quite good. I'd say if there's a few that look like something you need, try it out. I pretty much 80% of them and what I use most (and I use them a lot): - TCS68 (great saturation, smoother EQ than you may expect) - VQA-154 - VQP Bundle - VCL-864 - VPRE-562A (a favorite) - VREV-305 (I use it almost as a plate, sits in a mix very well) - VCS-1 (it's my default strip) I love the TCS-68 eq. It’s so good as a tone shaper. Great shelves and a semi parametric api 550 bell

I bought Oxford EQ last week and yesterday and today I've been mixing and have used it almost exclusively save for a couple of things I wanted to do with the SSL channel strip specifically and one instance of the UAD Pultec channel legacy (again for a specific reason). I can't believe how easy it is to get what I want out of the Oxford EQ. The UI takes a little getting used to, you have to turn on each band you want to use, but that's not a big deal. It's also interesting that you get 'variations' of the EQ: EQ with filters, filters only, 3 and 5 band without filters. Speaking of filters, these are excellent. On drum room on a mix I wanted to accentuate the the snare, and take out cymbal brightness and hash. I used the lo pass, and just kept bringing down the frequency until I heard snare bloom, without the cymbals masking or taking over. No filter I've ever tried this with sounded so natural and perfect. Cymbals basically gone. No weirdness, just what I was looking for. I'm so glad I got that, and am angry at myself for not doing it sooner.

If you're on the fence about the UTA EQ-500s, they're excellent and at this price, one of the best 500 series things you'll ever buy. A little cramped real estate wise, but they tighten up the sound like nothing else while respecting transient detail.
I suspect UTA will probably roll back these kind of discounts next year because it is very buyer friendly, the most I've ever seen for that level of gear.

I like that.

Audiothing just announced up 70% off. Type A is a really great one for doing the 'dolby trick.' Fog Convolver is also cool (and I should use it more).
