I noticed a few things go on sale at the start of this month. - $100-$150 off the Warm 1073 clones on Sweetwater
- The smaller Bogner guitar pedals (Ecstacy Red/Blue mini, Burnley, Wessex) are under $100
- $70-$200 off the Shure KSM mics to a little below what they were pre-price hike
- $100 off the Antelope Zen Go Synergy Core at Zen Pro Audio
Only window shopping for me with my gear budget exhausted. The KSM's are great mics! There's nothing better cheaper!

What the hell, for $104 shipped I’ll try a pair of those MonoP ribbons. I’ve paid more for shockmounts. Will report back!

Can also get a pair of BeesNeez LuLu FET's for that much - love mine. Do the Lulu mics have omni? It is the omni mode that I really like on the KSM141s. Having said that, if the Lulu's are close to KM84s, then they are one heck of a deal! (Though so are the Serranos. And as I am typing, I suppose it should be pointed out that the Serrano's also come with omni caps, but I have not heard them.) Addendum: The Lulu mics apparently have an option for an omni ball. I am curious if anyone has tried it.

I haven't had KM84s but they are inspired by those and the LuLus excel on OH's, NEVER any harshness to carve.
OH's are a great high-end test for me. Sound very natural. I may pull 400 and add some low end at times but I never seem to need to do anything to the top but maybe add a db or 2 or 12K on occasion.

I just saw how cheap Solid State Logic is moving off their 500 stuff.
You can get a G-Comp brand spanking new from any of the auth. dealers for $1299. Or the Ultraviolet EQ for $499.
So, uh, yeah - I just bought two Ultraviolets. I came really close to paying the media price in lieu of a review a couple times. Now I don't have to.

SSL Violet stereo EQ on sale for $500. 1. SSL is blowing out stuff at serious price reductions lately. I wonder what that's about?. 2. Is the Violet/Ultraviolet eq any good?

Demo i watched sounded alright - wasn't sounding like a character piece but the function was good. I have on coming Wednesday. i can speak to it more then.

I've played with the UV hi/lo bands on the fusion and thought they had a lot of the same whoomp/shine that the 9kJ EQ's did. Adding two parametric mid-bands and dropping the price to $500 is the sort of proposition where I'll buy it on sight and return it / resell it later if it sucks. Something about the SSL EQ just 'works' for me, might be just Stockholm Syndrome from working on so many of their consoles over the years.
I thought long and hard about snagging a G-Comp as well, but I've got VCA comps covered for this lifetime and the next. Okay, maybe an Audioscape 260 in my future... but that's a whole other conversation.

Ordered one of the SSL UV eqs. Demos sound pretty good and it's too good a price not to try.

Ordered one of the SSL UV eqs. Demos sound pretty good and it's too good a price not to try. People who know what the SSL EQ's are good for will be happy. People who are collecting 500 series gear in search of 'mojo', 'warmth', and 'moar saturation' are gonna be bummed. Not sure how Solid State Logic became synonymous with 'analog warmth' in the past 20 years but it's really just never been 'their thing'. Precise? Clean? Quiet? Reliable? Yes. Goopysaturatedmojowarmth? No.

I've always liked SSL EQ, plugins and the consoles. Not for any strong color, just because I think they sound good. Assertive, clean. I used to have a Speck ASC that I liked. I've always toyed with the idea of picking up a pair of the 500 series EQs. This sorta fills a similar niche in my mind, and stereo for $500 is good.

Received my pair of the $49 ribbons. (Alas, the price is no longer $49. $99 now.). They came well packed, good quality amenities - case, shock, foam, etc., and sound very good. No "issues" with either. Ribbons seem well adjusted without pulling them apart to check. They sound very similar, and are built very well and solid. Dark, but not super vintage dark. Will have more thoughts as I get to use them, but overall certainly worth the $$ whether it be $49 or $99.

Too many people talked about this and bought it and now the price has doubled. lets go with doubled instead of retuning back to normal price. guess i will have to wait for the chatter to die down so i can re visit this deal. Hope you guys enjoy them. Happy holidays

Anybody used this thing? Is it any good? Do you feel having the physical knobs makes a big difference in terms of ease of dialing in sounds? For that price, it seems like a no-brainer, but I could also see myself using it once and then having it sit on a shelf forever. Haha

Looks kinda fun but not sure I really see a big use case for it in my world.
