Front End has up to 20% discounts right now. I picked up an HCL comp this week and and am seriously fighting the urge to grab one of their 2 channel tube pres as well, they are 15% off. While on the Front End Audio site, it makes sense to sign up for the Vanguard V13 MKII giveaway.

It beats the MXL in most shootouts, including cowbell and triangle!

Did a quick checkout of the Monoprice ribbons on drums, swapping them out for my Fatheads in a stereo FOK role. They're nice! The MP (I should look up what the actual model is and stop just calling them the Monoprice/MP ribbons) are more open on top than the Fatheads, and tighter in the lows. I prefer the Fatheads for this job, they sound more overtly 'ribbon-y' and I like that there, but I am sure the MP will be super useful. I would bet they do well on piano, brash strings (like mandolin or something), drum OH, guitar cab obvs, probably lots of stuff. If they dropped back down, I'd probably buy another pair. Even at regular $99 price, they're a big value.

The Monoprice 5 Watt tube guitar amp for $111 is pretty dang solid. I believe its basically a Laney Cub schematic? I have one and its ideal for recording. I use it alot.

QUBE AUDIO is offering a discount on their Mobi One Cubase controller if you subscribe to the newsletter. ($350 US) If I didn't have the Steinberg controller I'd jump on this for the transport controls alone. And according to their site it is adaptable to 3rd party plugins. I tried to attach a photo but RGO is not letting me do that these days because it says the "forum has exceeded it's limit."
Ohhhh this is tempting. I've been wishing on a CC121 - but man, they are OLD. This.... this is interesting to me.

I had 2 panthers and upgraded their transformers, made a YT video about it. Eventually sold them but I didn’t dislike them .

Anybody else buy the SSL Ultraviolet eq and decide that it's worth having? I'm still on the fence, even at this $500 price.

If you don't have one of their "we miss you, here's 20% off), their 15% coupons might still be good.

The one thing I like is the stereo aspect. The thing I don't like (kinda, sorta, mostly) is that it's SSL EQ. . I've got a bunch of nice EQ's, and for utility, I can go ITB.

I just like analog. Clean, colorful, whatever. I’ve never preferred the DSP when I’ve gone to the trouble of doing a careful shootout. I like to print hardware. I think it’s fun. The SSL UV thing will get used on lots of stereo stuff. Piano, drum OH, whatever. $500 was too low for me to pass up. Gets here Thurs.

But for me, having over 200RU of racks being completely full, anything new has to hit way above the crowd to make it into the racks. Cause I love 90+ % of the stuff I've got in the racks, and anything new has to bump a loved one out. I'll look forward to your experience. <thumbsup>

Bought one for $424. Musicians Friend 15% off. Honestly...I put it in my cart figuring they wouldn't discount an already heavily discounted unit. I was wrong. . I'll off it if it doesn't suit some usage, but I think the tight focused narrow Q will be interesting. I don't think anything else I have in the analog world will do those types of huge narrow cuts. We'll see.
