When I’m back in a cash roll I’ll buy every mic from them too support. Awesome!! Ben, you are awesome, bother! Just being yourself is some of the best marketing I've ever seen... now about that logo. Update and you're golden. LOL

This mic sounds great (in the video).
Anyone notice Ben's 12 and 251 kits? Lookin' good!!!
Nice pre-built PSU as well. A pretty sweet deal there.

I bought a pair of mint C12a all original AKG’s that sound superb. I ordered a pair of Bens for the drums and amps and it turned out they sound exactly the same with Ben’s sounding a little more robust for plosives. I was seriously blown away. Ben has nailed the early 60’s CK12 capsule imo better than anyone since AKG easily. They are such great mics and capsules it’s unreal.

Has anyone snagged a solid state one of these?
Much as I’d love the tube version, I can’t drop that much right now and can’t really justify any more tube mics right now (already got way too many for the kind of stuff I’m recording - at least with the budgets I’m working with)

Hide your wallets if you're not in the market to buy a mic haha... Thanks for the demo Josh. Appreciate the time you put into it. The mic sounds rather lovely on instruments and BVs! On the lead vocal and your voice, I preferred the BU67 from your demos as there was more bloom in the lows. Maybe the difference is also in the in-between setting used in the C12A demo(?). The Neumanish bloom is also an issue from time to time, especially in busy mixes.I'm rather used to Neumann sound for vocals, so that might be the case.

Great work Josh; that was a lot of your day right there. Really nice that it's got a great holder as most of today's clones are seriously lacking in that dept. Cheers, Ross

You're spot on, a 67 style mic is the best fit I've found for my voice and I've tried close to every mic ever made haha. I think a combo of a BC12A and a BU67 would cover just about anything you could throw at it for sure.

I definitely didn't plan to spend as much time on this as I ended up doing but honestly it was so enjoyable I just got carried away. I agree about the holder, a lot of clones I end up not even using theirs but this one is great 👍🏼

I ordered a pair of the capsules for my hand made 251. It won’t get better. Aluminium sputtered.

My pair are here. (Hmmm - poetic!) Stunning looks. Cases are fantastic and show that someone really cared about the design. Compact and effective. Now to try them out. Love the new logo too! By the way, Ben even has his logo on the strong packing tape!

Loving the Bc12a mics. Well matched. Super build. High end is sweet and more full bodied than the Austrian Audio OC818s.
And a lot of detail while still being flattering on vocals!
Very impressed!
I think I am selling my Upton 251.
Thanks Ben and Veronica!

I think I am selling my Upton 251. Thanks Ben and Veronica! Did you get tube or FET models? Tube. I was a little hesitant because I was worried about capturing enough detail and I thought maybe the tube would be too "round" so to speak. But not the case here. This has just the right amount of detail and yet being euphonic. And after thinking about it, if I wanted more detail, I would probably go with a Josephson E22s (toms, hand-drums tabla), or DPA/Schoeps on a rich grand piano. (If I wanted to make a grand piano a little richer, I think these might prove to be preferable to the schoeps, dpas.) And if I was doing it over again with SDC mic purchases, I would be strongly considering the new SDC offerings of Samar. But these are detailed an euphonic enough for vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin family instruments, etc. I was also surprised how heavy these are for their relatively small size. And fortunately, Ben has great shock mounts for these (meaning the shock mounts fit well and work fine - nothing fancy but designed for these mics). And one last thing, the power supply is the smallest that I have but they are doing great. If I had one more wish on these, it would be a little light on the power supply, but something has to go when saving thousands of dollars from a vintage AKG 12a. Now the next Beesneez purchases are going to be a pair of BU67 with the versatile switching. P.S. Seeing the new logo in person, it looks great, classy, and should no longer be an issue to anyone.

The BC12a ended up being way too bright on me. I think this will stick a fork in me trying to get a C12/251 style mic to work on my voice.
I did basically like the mic though. Build quality felt great. Noise floor was a little higher than I would have liked but I don’t think it would have been truly problematic. I’m used to my 67 which is like dead silent, so a lot of other mics’ self noise tend to stick out to me.
