I just got 4 of the 5 mics I paid for, they are super cute😊 But i need the 5th mic asap, actually sooner than that, I'm not happy that I made the purchased on labor day and already made a payment last week for mics that i didn't have. View AttachmentView AttachmentWere you not told there would be a wait? You asked 1/2 of the question, did he ask if they were in stock or for a specific drop dead date? I’m sorry but e commerce has existed for over 30 years if you don’t know most e commerce systems do a crappy job of tracking inventory you have been living under a rock. A lot of theses software systems have a fairly obvious flaw, they don’t allocate the item till after its invoiced. Even with a vendor who has a great system there are always errors, if I need it now I call or email & follow up with an email referencing order number. Now as far as the being charged, well as much as you don’t like it, that’s standard practice for most not just the audio biz. Again a quick email or phone call goes a long way. Now dear Dr rereading this this, looking at your website I’m going to say you are missing one very, very very important thing on your website: YOUR TERMS! Your e commerce guy should know this, your general Lawyer probably forgot this but someone who like Tony had to wait might, might be able to make your life a living hell and that lawyer wealthy because you didn’t tell him anything about deposit, back orders, charging the card etc. I would advise looking at the terms section of Full Compass,Sweetwater, & GC for guidance. All employ competent lawyers, they may seam far more draconian than you want but really what they refer to is their policy at its worse. They can be nice, bend over backwards, but at the end of the day it means we don’t have to and our ass is covered@bradd

To be clear, this is my purchasing experience, I think samar and marks mics are top of the heap as good as it gets, I went with these off my personal experience with his ribbons and samars rep. It doesn’t change that I got them today a month after I ordered them and I’m still light 1 mic, I missed a session sat and sun and spent $1,800.00, no one would be happy with that and we all should share varying degrees of positive and negative experiences as it protects us as consumers and keeps merchants on the straight and narrow, there is nothing malicious about that, I’m sure these mics will be go to’s eventually, they are really too cute to ignore 👐🏻 Hi Tony,
Thank you for your support and nice words about our mics! I am sorry for your experience and delay. It is important to understand how the dealers work nowadays. The times when they usually were keeping the goods in stock are over (unless some commodity items). So you place an order with the dealer (in your case the PO dated September 2nd). We got it September 3rd. Depending on load it usually takes us about 5-10 business days to prepare the order (unless it is a rush order, which the dealer did not specify when sent PO), so the mics were ready by September 13th. After that we send an invoice to the dealer. It takes about 2-3 days for the dealer to process the invoice and send payment, after that we ship the item to the dealer (we did on September 16th). The dealer headquarters are in Michigan, so from Utah it takes about a week to get the item there. After that they send the item to the customer. If you are on West coast it takes another week for the item to arrive to you. Hopefully, it explains about a month of delivery time.
Unfortunately, we had only 4 mics on hand, because that was (a rare) period we were short of capsules. To compensate for the missing mic delay we matched two pairs free of charge (normally, $99, each pair). If the dealer did not let you know the serial numbers please contact me and I will let you know which is which. The last one should go early next week. We talk to the dealer and will drop ship it directly to you to avoid long shipping waiting, again. After all it is only 1-2 days ground shipping to CA from us.
Hopefully, the quality of our microphones will offset the waiting time.
Best regards, Mark

Appreciate you Mark, I didn’t know both pairs were matched, that is very cool, and I appreciate it. The no communication thing was my biggest complaint, I had to initiate all contact via VK, after the initial charge I got 2 1/2 weeks of radio silence, then I started making calls and that’s when the irritation set in, keeping buyers posted is not too difficult and always appreciated by us, maybe u and the dealers could go 2 day instead of ground as that seems like it took most of the time and I don’t think $20 more bucks is gonna bother anyone after a major purchase? Looking forward to the last mic and using these cute little units a whole lot, thanx Mark

According to my notes the matched are not two pairs, but the SN 124, 125, and 129, in case you ever need it.
I am not sure what the VK communication policies are--mostly we do not even know who are the customers, what are their expectations and all the details. It is customary for all dealers across USA to use ground service. We are happy to do anything they tell us, so if they ask us for a 2nd day delivery--it is not a problem for us. For the future I think that would be good to check with us, first, especially if you need faster delivery without waiting for relaying information between dealer and us. We know exactly the stock, or expected lead time in case of something is backordered. Our goal is to make our customers happy with both quality of our products and smoothness of transaction, so we will always work with customers to accommodate their needs.
Best, M

Hey Mark, am i understanding correctly, SN124,125 and 129 all match one another? So a mini mic decca tree is in order? Yes, those three do match each other. For image precision I am rather a ribbon Blumlein guy, so do not have much experience with Decca Tree. My understanding it is supposed to work with omnies, particularly with M50 due to their EQ balls for free field correction. I don’t know anything about using cardioids. Will be more than happy to hear what more experienced with Decca Tree folks have to say here. Best, M

Best, M Tree works best with Omni, even the lowly 635a ( hey we were bored) has its benefits, but other patterns are very much hit or miss depending on the particular mic.

PICI really wish we had taken photos of our 635a tree we were laughing so hard that it kind of worked, I think in many ways it proved more than anything that the linearity of Omni pattern is one thing that is to often forgotten.

So i bought 5 of the MG33's, they came in nice cases and have good mic clips, I plan on using them primarily on drum mic clips, after some significant looking I have NOT found any shock mounts that will work well with these little guys so i decided to try to make my own. They are modified pvc couplers that I drilled/tapped and configured with some camera mounting hardware, I think they are super versatile and quite cool if I say so myself..... Check out the pics below www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/oxrtuog82qn0hxzrlvh5m/AL9grreQXycTa03nNGcG6DA?rlkey=x2nshzqdtww2mjfityqeku1lm&st=pqhaljnu&dl=0Pretty ingenious solution! Are these too wee for the Beyer ones used for the MC930? Your DIY solution looks v similar.

The Samar mg33 is tiny, 3/4” OD and 3 1/4” long

Awesome job! Always appreciate a good spirit of DIY! The red is a great idea to make it more visible for drummers!
